It's been years

Time changes everything , our family has been healing but not forgetting my sister and Dad.
Deb and I have been doing the TV show together and this year will be 14 years of doing the computer show.
The Biz is going , as always working hard ...

Many challenges coming up in my life , so I thought I would start up and post as I face these challenges , as I turn 41 this year.

Dear Debra Ann Hodgins my Baby Sister
Thank you for allowing us to be a small part of your Journey, you have made us richer people by letting us know you and showing us that helping people is the greatest joy in life.

Though your journey through life was far too short we can only be glad that in some small way we were able to share it with you.

Your bravery and heart gave to others the blessing to share and rejoice in the days you spent with us. You never let us forget that you love each and everyone of us, not by the things we did but just because we were there.

In each of your children’s eyes and hearts we see you, and in your choice of a life mate we see that your ability to make wise and loving choices made your life full of joy. We promise that each life event the Michael, Kendlyn, Jeremy and Emily will have, the family will be there to smile and rejoice because you made it happen.

As each tear falls to mother earth, it is the sadness that we will miss you and joy that we were able to share in your love and your journey.

When last we met you stood in the rain, because you could and you embraced it because you wanted too and to us you were all that mattered. We stand strong knowing that you loved us all and only hope to help and touch as many people as you have.

Sleep well my baby sister rest assured that your journey was remarkable; your touch has changed so many lives and that makes you live forever in our hearts and spirt. Now that you and Dad can rest while we continue on our journey your souls will help guide us everyday.

Love always

Your Older but not wiser Brother

What a difference a Day makes
Look at the last post and it was the day my Father Died a few years ago. All of the things I wrote so many years ago seem like a dream or a nightmare.

I contiue this Journal today (and they say blogging is a new thing) so 3 years later as to purge my soul, to re visit my believe in faith and or destiny.

This year , in fact a few weeks ago my younger sister Debbie pasted away from Leukimia, and a few weeks before that my Step Father past away as well. Hard bones to swallow for a small proud family. My mom is strongest lady I have ever met , my Brother in Law has made me respect him even more.

The Celebration of my Father's Life will took place at

W.C. Town Funeral Chapel

110 Dundas St. E. in Whitby.

Visitation was held
Wednesday September 11th, from 2-4 and from 7-9.

The Funeral will took place Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the same location
Rather then Flowers we requested a donation in Leslie David Shaw's name
to the Toronto For Sick Children's Hospital, they can also be made at the funeral home.

We would like to thank all the members of the Computer Mechanics forums and all others for their support during this time of great sorrow for our family. On July 25th my Father Leslie David Shaw went missing and though the entire family tried to locate his whereabouts we were unsuccessful.

September 4th we were informed by the Durham Regional Police that my Father and his car were found in Kirkland Lake area, he was deceased for sometime, we do not currently know the cause. A autopsy will be performed Friday, funeral arrangements will be posted as soon as they are made. With so many loving family members, we are finding it hard to find a reason why he was there.

My father was a kind and loving man, not only believing in working hard but showing it with his 38 years on the General Motors line without missing a day. He was a large support to his family at all times. He was a great Father to Debbie and Les Jr. and a extraordinary Grandfather to Michael, Kendal Lynn, Jeremy and Emily . He was a brother and uncle to many and enjoyed time with the family with enthusiasm as each of them felt special around him.

During a tremendous lifetime my father built a cottage, owned a house boat and enjoyed making people laugh. He was the first to get a Santa suit so the children would have a smile every Christmas. I can only hope to live as wonderful and touching life as him. My father always told us that we would do miracles, we hope he knew he was one and that we will miss him ever so much. I love you Dad and hope that you are with Grandpa and Grandma Shaw. You made the world a much better place and we hope that you can look down on us proudly. My father inspired us to help for no other reason then because we can and not to expect anything in return. I carry your name with pride.

We thank you for all your condolences

Been a nasty summer , one I will never forget
When the summer started everything was peachy !
Had started a TV production company , working hard on contract and my store was running strong... all seemed to be roses.

Then we came to July 25th, this is the day I awoke to hear my father going out about 6 am, little did I know that would be last I would ever hear from him. That day was the day where nothing else mattered but to find my father.
Sept 4th we found out we had failed , my father was found passed away in his car at kirkland lake. We are sure he had gone there to look at cottage property to by as he had just sold his other cottage.

This was the worst I had ever felt , over the next little while we did what a sone has to do to be sure his father is rememebered and that he is laid to rest with dignity. I feel my father is proud as my sister and I did just that.
We are still going on the air with a few changes, I am more hard core, and have grown a lot hoping I haven't lost all of my innocence. My 36th birthday was spent at the funernal home planning my father's funeral.

Really makes you look at the reality of life and how easy it can be taken away..

I don't whine, I go on .. and that is what we all will do everyday.. but I will see the beauty in things a lot more, and cherish everyminute. As they say don't sweat the small stuff.

Wow , Cleaner day , Stress filled ..
Been ages since I updated my journal.

The Show has been a great success this year , We have met hundreds of people that have thanked us for doing the show and that have been longtime viewers.
Goes to show that we are not doing it all in vain. The cost to us has been great.

We have spent about 7000 to get the show on, even thought Rogers @ Home is sponsoring it . Really can't figure out why it is costing us anything. But we keep going.

I quit smoking two weeks ago and still going strong, Feeling clearer and cleaner. Food taste different to, no major weightgain in fact with the extra energy weightloss has been my side effect.

Keeping the show , my contract and the store running has been stress filled. Always the way.

Well till next I write dear Journal ... ta ta

Just lucky to be here
Well Four more days til Episode one of the new season. People will be quite impressed with the new layout and the changes that have been made to the set.
We have added Janet to the show to help deal with the outside world during the show.
Work has been going well and growing everyday.

I can Believe how much the WTC effected me. I couldn't help but shed a tear for everyone that said thier loved one was missing. And you knew they were not missing they were dead.

No matter waht the States does it will never fill the gap in safety that I had built over the years. And the sorrow I share for them.

See you September 22nd Rogers Cable, 7pm!

Dreams do come true.
We have been swamped , summer is normally a slow time in the computer field. But we have not even had time for a breather.
Our online ording system has been working great. Customer orders and the order goes to the distributor, our techcentre and the customer. Delivery is with in one to two days.
Service has reached a all time high, we have a strong team. Everyone is working like clock work, we will more than likely be hiring more on site techs by the end of summer.
The show is coming along nicely and we get to check out the new set tonight , and meet with the new producer. We have our demmands and it feels good that they will be accepted, as they are things that should have been given to us with out asking.
Our move into the Toronto and Ottawa market was the best move we have ever made.
I have a dream :) , and it is coming together.

Thanks to all for helping and understanding there is a goal. Oh , and we won a award for our site!

WOW, almost did not make it in to work today.. alive
There was a transport truck on the on-ramp to the 401. So the on-ramp was now really short.
As we tried to merge two Transport trucks were coming at us. We heard crunch and crack. And I saw the end , for sure we were toast.
Then it was over and we had pulled over to the side of the road. WOW
It only hit our mirror!
We couldn't believe how lucky we were.

Success , am I .. hmmmmmm
With everything going on in my life, I sit back and wonder how I did it. The Show has been a big hit. But now we are taking on such a large viewer-ship we should hit over 4 million homes. We used to have to call for contra or sponsorship but now they call us or just send stuff in.

The TechCentre is crazy walk in's and on site. I have taken a 6 month contract for a Hydro company to get ready for the changes in the industry. And the on-line catalog has been a wild hit.

To everyone that said it wouldn't work , that I was dreaming to high. Byte ME

Wow, week starts off with a bang...
People Late, Server issues, Orders to be made, Customers to please.
Seems this is the way of life in my world. Work Monday to Friday 8:30 to 4:30 at a customer site doing complicated configuration to get ready for a deadline. The odd pop over to be sure that things are flowing at the office. Get home Friday night and veg out for a few hours. Get up on Saturday and work the day in my store.
Then Sunday comes rest, coffee and do what I like for the day ... (Mostly , I have a partner so I have to consider her needs:)

Then Monday comes and we start all over again. "All my life is a circle!"
